WSOC Beat Simpson To Go To Playoffs!

Redding, CALIFORNIA - The Lady Pioneers were coming into this game with high hopes of a playoff spot. The Simpson Redhawks hosted the Pioneers on October 30th on their senior day. Kickoff was at 12:00 PM PDT with the sun shining bright on the Pioneers' playoff dreams.

The Lady Pioneers were hoping to come out strong in this big game and they did just that with a goal coming from Olivia Jess in the 18th minute, giving the Pioneers an early 1-0 lead. The Pioneers would hold off the Redhawks attacks with great efforts from the defense and goalkeeper Jayleen Casillas. The 1st half would end 1-0 in favor of the Pioneers.

Going into the 2nd half the Pioneers planned to focus on the defense and hold the lead, but still did not forget about their offense as they recorded 4 shots in the 2nd half. The Pioneers held tight against the Simpson attack as the 2nd half would end 1-0. Jayleen Casillas recorded 6 saves during the game.

With this win, the Lady Pioneers would earn their first-ever playoff position in program history!

The Pioneers will travel to play UC Merced on November 5th to play in the 1st round of the CalPac championships. Kickoff will be at 7:30 PM PDT.
