On October 15th the Lady Pioneers hosted Providence Christian, with the venue being at St. Helena High School instead of the usual Pacific Union campus. Kickoff was at 9:00 PM PDT on a chilly night after the Sabbath. The Pioneers just came off of a game against St. Katherine which ended in a tie, so they were hoping to get a win this time.
The Pioneers were hoping to start pushing right away as the whistle blew as they would immediately put the pressure on Providence Christian. After a handful of attempts, Olivia Jesse was finally able to slot one away to make the score 1-0. After more attacking attempts the whistle blew, still at 1-0 as they went into halftime.
The Pioneers would come back into the 2nd half pressuring just as they were in the 1st half. After some unlucky chances, the Pioneers were finally able to get another goal through Jazmyn Bravo, which was assisted by Leslie Tamayo. The Pioneers were able to keep the Seabeggers to 1 shot attempt in both halves and to end the game 2-0 as the Pioneers earned a well-deserved win.
The Pioneers will be traveling to Southern California to continue their CalPac conference play against Antelope Valley and La Sierra. They will play Antelope Valley on October 20th and kickoff will be at 12:30 PM PDT.
