Men's Soccer Tie Holy Names in a Scorcher
The Pioneers were hoping to make a comeback from their loss against William Jessup as they made their way to Oakland to face off against NCAA Division 2 school, Holy Names University in a steaming hot game on the turf.
For the first half the Pioneers put on the pressure, with a goalscoring chance from Joel Casillas was blocked. But the Pioneers kept up the pressure against the Hawks and were hungry to beat such a high-level team. Towards the end of the half Pioneer made 2 great saves to keep the score 0-0 going into halftime.
Unfortunately, Holy Names' athletic trainer was forced to end the game early as temperatures rose to about 110 degrees.
The Pioneers will now travel to Arizona to begin their conference play against Embry-Riddle (Sept. 16th) and Benedictine Mesa (Sept. 18th).
